THE FOUNDER OF MMAWT LEGACY INITIATIVE AND WIFE OF THE SOKOTO STATE GOVERNOR VISITS MARYAM ABACHA WOMEN AND CHILDREN HOSPITAL, AA RAJI SPECIAL SCHOOL AND THE STATE ORPHANAGE

The Founder of MMAWT legacy initiative and wife of the Sokoto State Governor, Hajiya Maryam Mairo Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, today visited Maryam Abacha Women and Children Hospital and the State Adult Orphanage in continuation of her humanitarian visits.

Before proceeding to the hospital, the wife of the governor visited Kofar Bai, the ancestral staff quarters of the Sultanate council, to thank them for the continuous prayer sessions being held for the success of His Excellency Rt.Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal in the upcoming Election re-run scheduled for Saturday 23rd March 2019. 

While speaking to the residents of Kofar Bai on behalf of the wife of the governor, Hajiya Jamila Bafarawa said they were at the area to express their appreciation to them for the their support and prayers towards the success of Governor Tambuwal. 

At the Maryam Abacha Women and Children Hospital, the wife of the governor was received by the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Lawal Bello, who conducted her round the hospital Wards. Hajiya Maryam Tambuwal met with over 50 VVF patients who are recovering from a corrective surgery recently performed on them by the state government in collaboration with visiting Doctors from various international NGOs.

The Wife of the Governor alongside the wife of the former governor of sokoto state, Hajiya Jamila Bafarawa took time to interact with the recovering VVF patients, offering them words of encouragement and assuring them of her support towards their recovery and rehabilitation.

While responding to questions from journalists, the wife of the governor said she was at the hospital to offer her support to the recovering patients. 

The wife of the governor went further to say “VVF is an ailment that affects its victims both physically and mentally, hence the need for us all to support the recovering patients in all ways possible”.

Hajiya Maryam Tambuwal also presented copies of a book written in Hausa titled: “Yanaye Yanayen ciki da haihuwa a likitance” which guides women on pregnancy and Childbirth to the Chief Medical Director for onward distribution to the patients and other members of the hospital community.

At A.A Raji Special School, the wife of the governor and her entourage took time to interact with the students, and urged them to concentrate on their studies. Hajiya Maryam Tambuwal also charged the students to seize the opportunity provided for them to learn and become productive members of the society without recourse to their various disabilities which she said doesn’t count as far as success is concerned.

At the State Adult Orphanage, Hajiya Maryam Mairo Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, also interacted intensively with the Orphans offering them words of encouragement and support. The wife of the governor also pledged a monthly donation of education and medical allowance to them through her foundation “MMAWT LEGACY INITIATIVE.” A donation of cash, food items, toiletries and other essentials were also made to the Orphans. 

Donations of assistance of various kinds were made to all .
