The Founder of MMAWT legacy initiative and wife of the Sokoto State Governor, Hajiya Maryam Mairo Aminu Waziri Tambuwal was today the guest of honour at the 1st Female Dialogue series organized by the Student Union of the Usman Danfodio University Sokoto.
The Dialogue series themed : FEMALE HYGIENE ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS. was chaired by the sokoto state commissioner for Social Welfare and community development, professor Aishatu Madawaki who was also the representative of the wife of the governor.
In her keynote address, the Chairperson of the event, welcomed all the attendees and urged them to utilize the opportunity and make positive use of the outcomes of the event.
A lecture titled :female hygiene issues and solutions delivered by Dr Saratu Bello a Consultant at the Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) focused on the importance of hygiene and ways to improve it.
In her Goodwill message delivered by her representative, the wife of the governor commended the students for organizing such an important event and called on them to sustain the advocacy , collaborations and evaluation of anticipated progress to curtail the side effect of bad hygiene on women and girls in of adolescence age .
She also commended the vice president of union, Comrade Halima Sa’adiya for spearheading the event.
Bearing in mind , MMAWT L.I has been championing the cause of personal hygiene , Health and environment .
The highlight of the event was the launching of the free Sanitary Pads distribution and the presentation of a merit award to the Founder MMAWT Legacy initiative and other dignitaries.
