MMAWT LEGACY INITIATIVE DONATES A BUILDING TO A REHABILITATED TEENAGE RAPE VICTIM AT BADAWA VILLAGE IN BODINGA LOCAL GOVERNMENT OF SOKOTO STATE

It will be recalled that sometime last year, MMAWT Legacy Initiative, intervened in a Rape case involving Fatima Abubakar, a 12 year old mentally challenged girl that was raped by an unknown person and eventually got pregnant.
Fatima who lives alone with her mother in Wajeke village of Wamakko local government, was banished along with her mother from Wajeke and had to move to the mother’s village called Badawa in Bodinga local government where a smaller mud house was built for them by some relatives.
On receipt of the report from the National association of female Doctors, via a Corp member, Dr Oparaji who provided the initial support for Fatima, the Wife of the Sokoto State Governor, Hajiya Maryam Mairo Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, ordered an investigation into the matter and relocated Fatima, and her new born baby to a befitting accommodation within Sokoto metropolis under the total care of MMAWT legacy initiative.
The Foundation also secured the services of a Nanny and a therapist that guided the young mother and generally supervised the well-being of the baby.
One year on, the foundation has succeeded in rehabilitating Fatima, and have based on expert advice relocated her along with her mother back to Badawa village, where a new apartment was built and donated to them by MMAWT Foundation.
