    FOUNDER OF MMAWT LEGACY INITIATIVE AND WIFE OF THE SOKOTO STATE GOVERNOR, RECEIVES HUMANITARIAN AND WOMEN AFFAIRS MINISTERS WHO WERE ON A ONE DAY WORKING VISIT TO SOKOTO STATE

    The Founder of MMAWT Legacy Initiative and wife of the Sokoto State Governor, Hajiya Maryam Mairo Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, today received the minister of humanitarian affairs, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk and that of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, who were in Sokoto to flag off the Federal Government Flood Relief Distribution program organized by the National Emergency Management Agency.
    On Arrival at the Sultan Abubakar the 3rd International Airport, the Wife of the Governor, Hajiya Maryam Mairo Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, led the ministers to the palace of His Eminence the Sultan Of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, where they paid Homage and received blessings alongside his Eminence’s gratitude for the gesture.
    The entourage then proceeded to the Sokoto State Government House where they were received by His Excellency Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
    In her speech the minister of humanitarian affairs, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk, briefed the governor on the ministry’s ongoing projects which includes the conditional cash transfer program,and the home grown school feeding program, she also solicited for the state’s support towards the success of the projects.
    While responding, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal said he is aware of the challenges being faced by the projects in the state especially the conditional cash transfer and promised continuous monitoring.
    The governor also informed the minister of an ongoing state conditional cash transfer, which was suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which targets the 23 local government areas of the state and is expected to gulp 4 billion Naira on its completion. Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the gesture.
    In her remarks, the Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, described Governor Tambuwal as a Gender Friendly Governor, considering his efforts in carrying along the womenfolk in the state.
    In his response, Governor Tambuwal informed the minister of more projects in the pipeline specifically designed to target women, among which includes the ongoing all girls science secondary school, and the proposed all girls junior secondary schools across all local government areas, among other projects.
    While flagging off the distribution, the minister of humanitarian affairs, extended the goodwill message of the president and thanked the Sokoto State Government for its continuous support for the projects.
    Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who was represented by the secretary to the state government, Malam Sa’idu Umar, outlined the support given to victims by the state government and thanked the federal government for the gesture which he described as timely.
    In a vote of thanks, the wife of the Sokoto State Governor, Hajiya Maryam Mairo Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, thanked the state government and federal government for the support and collaboration in the intervention scheme provided to the victims and called on the beneficiaries to ensure judicious use of the support provided to them.
    The visiting ministers were later seen off at the Sultan Abubakar the lll International Airport by the Wife of the Governor, the Secretary to the State Government, and the state Commissioners of Women and children affairs, Hajiya Kulu Sifawa and that of Social Welfare and community development, Professor Aishatu Madawaki.
